It replaces a four year old Gateway laptop that is now being adopted by my wife (and is still working flawlessly). This new one (presumably manufactured for Gateway by Acer) looks great, runs like greased lightning, and has superb graphics (due to the much upgraded video card). The limited Microsoft WORD teaser program is the only disappointment. Since it has only a very few fonts, it made a mess of my 1500+ word files I transferred to it with regard to formatting and font. I have just purchased the full Office 2010 and hope that it is better than this. Since I bought this laptop (and waited a week for Super Saver delivery), the price has steadily climbed. Better grab it fast before it goes even higher.
